Alright, so the last month or so has been particularly busy. Not too long after finishing the 40k battle, we decided to start a Warhammer Fantasy campaign. Points started at 500 (which is really hard to do) and will be going into the 2000+, getting to prolly over 3000 at some point. The campaign has been going on for a few weeks now, but I haven't gotten the motivation to keep track of the painting till now. I've decided that instead of keeping track of my progress through post-it notes, I should prolly just put it up on here.
Now the Campaign. Just before the campaign was announced I was given a bag of Lizardmen that were put together, but not yet primed or painted. I was working on cleaning them when the campaign was started and figured "why not? I've got some Lizardmen now. Why don't I just make an army?" If I had been thinking about it more, then I prolly would have waited and helped my step dad paint his army and slowly work on mine. Other then that, I am having a blast both with the playing and the painting. As these were my first warhammer games, I was a little frustrated with the rules, but I have gotten better and so far have played 5 games, 3 of which were in the campaign. I've have only won one game and it was my most recent (which I attribute to the addition of an Oldblood which kicked Chaos butt). I feel this will be the first of many victories.
The campaign has 8 players and all of them are fielding a different army. We have my Lizardmen, Brettonians, Vampire Counts, Skaven, Chaos, Orks, Dwarves, and Ogres (We did have a 9th player of Wood Elves, but they had to drop). What is so great about all of these armies is that they are painted wonderfully. Everyone is working to make sure that there are at least 4 colors on the models with shadows and that they are based.
Currently we are at 1250 points and are starting the second of 4 phases in the campaign.
So, after a lot of background I can get to the figures and what I am working on since the last update. Seeing as how Saturdays seem to be the day that I can take the most pictures, the big update will have to wait till then, but I can put up what I have.
This first picture is of a small portion of the army (around the 500 to 750 point area). There is a block of spear saurus, a unit of 10 skink skirmishers, a salamander hunting pack, and a Skink priest as the leader. The skin of the lizards will be different colors depending on type (saurus, skink, etc) but the scales along the back will always have an Icy blue color. The only things that do not have this are the animals (sallies, stegs, cold ones) though this first salllie sort of does.
Here is a closer shot of the skink priest. My skinks are a bright red so I kept with that theme. The base was built up with very light terrain rocks, then were painted over to look like rocks. Little redundant, but the primer helped seal the rocks together and cover the glue.
Next up are my saurus. These guys have purple skin with the icy blue scales. I kept most of their stuff gold (which I am starting to really hate to paint) and the spear shafts bone. The spear tips are an iridescent turquoise color. If you see a weird spear in there, it's cause these were some of the ones that were given to me and there were 2 banner guys already built. I did not need another one so I cut off the banner and grabbed a spear from my step dad's Brets and put it on.
These are my skink skirmishers. Red skin and Icy blue scales.
And finally, my sallie hunting pack. His skin was done with one of the flesh tones and then washed with ogryn flesh. I hadn't really found a use for this wash and wanted to find something to paint it with. I tend to do this a lot as we have paints sitting around. I will find a color that no one uses and I will find a use for it.
So those are the pictures that I have so far of my Lizards. So far, I'm a little neutral about these guys in the game, though it is mainly my rolls that have contributed to this. My sallies haven't done a decent amount of damage and more often than not will misfire and eat the poor handlers. The skink priest has been overwhelmed in almost every game, with either turning himself into a 0 lvl caster on the first turn or running off the board. Now that I know more about the game and what I can do, the skink skirmishers are surviving more, as they will run from most attackers and rally later. The best thing so far has been my block of saurus spears with their tons of attacks.
Now for progress report.
I don't have any Cold Ones on the list cause I'm not sure that I want to use em. I'm currently working on a trade that will either get me a box of cold ones or another temple guard box. Depends on what they give me. I would love to have some Terrodons or Krox, but the models are so expensive. The only way I will have any is if I sculpt them myself, as I did with my second Sallie (not pictured here yet). I will eventually have a block of 20 saurus with hw/s and a block of 40 saurus with spears.
Alright, more to follow later this week!

900 points of 40k Ork!
I recently finished my first real army! Most of my work up till now has been single units or characters for armies or games, but I was able to get a 40k Ork army done for a recently played 'Big Game'. The store that I usually go to every Sunday just participated in the record breaking 'Largest 40k Game in the World' along with other games everywhere. Our game alone was around 50,000 points with the Ork and Necrons battling the Guard and many different marine chapters. A small portion of the battle, around 900 points, was my little Ork army played by my step-dad. The game was great fun to watch and I was happy the minis I painted did so well, even if the Marines won in the end. The Ork army is small now, since we had less then a month to prepare from nothing, but it will grow in the future and I will have more to paint. For now this is our 40k Ork army of clan Deathskulls, lead by Warboss Gothmawg.
The overall army
The Warboss Gothmawg
The Boyz
The Nobz
The DeathKoptas
The Grotz and The Herder
The Trukk
and finally the Looted Wagon

First Post: Just some info...
This blog will be for my miniature painting. Not only just armies, but single minis as well and maybe some terrain too. No pics at the moment though :( Will post in the next few days as I'm working on a Dystopian Wars army which is about halfway done.
